Adult Electives at Lebanon Free Church ~ Spring 2018

Sundays, March 11 – May 27
(No classes Easter Sunday, April 1)

It is our desire that everyone in our church family be actively growing in their walk with Christ. No matter where you are in your journey, these classes will help you grow your roots deeper as you connect to Jesus Christ, to others, and to the life God intends for you! Please join us!

7:45 – 8:45am: “Early Bird” Class

Jeremiah  led by Joe Vangeli and RandyKreider  (Continued from Winter Quarter)Imagine living in a world with no moral absolutes - a place where truth is in the eye of the beholder - a society with eroding standards. ‘Sound familiar? Yet this dilemma is not new. The prophet Jeremiah was called to take a public, and unpopular, stand for God's truth. Jeremiah is one of the most admirable characters appearing in the pages of Scripture. Few others, especially in the Old Testament, were as Christ-like as Jeremiah. In fact, when Jesus came, some of His contemporaries thought that He was Jeremiah reincarnated. Jeremiah’s story can inspire us to make the powerful, decisive choice to stay firm in our faith and values. Can the flame of faith burn in the darkness? Yes! Join us as we study Jeremiah's theme of judgment and his message of hope!  RoomA8

9:00 – 10:15am:  Classes Offered During the First Worship Service

Passion Week   led by Randy Kreider   The Passion Week is very important to the church. Jesus knew it was basically His last week to be with His disciples. John gives us some details about what Jesus thought was most important to tell and communicate to His friends. Jesus knew He would be leaving. He had to reinforce what was most important for the disciples to know, so that the Church would grow into what God had intended. Join us as we look at the Passion Week in this study of John 12-21.  RoomA8

To Know Him and to Make Him Known  led by David Bauman (Continued from Winter Quarter)If we hope to make Jesus known, we must first be sure to know Him, not merely know about Him. When the time comes to introduce Jesus to those that need Him, do you really know who you are about to introduce? The teachings in this class are able to change your life. Are you ready to experience the abundant life that Jesus offers? Let’s get there together! The topics include: Hosting the Presence of God, Missions and World Evangelism. Come and learn how God is moving all over the world and how you can be a part of the Great Commission!  Room A7

FRESH CONNECTIONS  led by Bob Dailey  **April 15 – May 6  Attending this church can seem overwhelming! This special 4-week course is designed to help you get more familiar with who we are as a church family. These sessions will cover what we believe (basic Christian doctrine), our history (both our local church and an overview of the Evangelical Free Church of America), explore the various ministries of our church, and discover how you might get plugged in and use your unique gifts to serve the Lord. This course is perfect for those new to our church, those just exploring who we are, or those who are looking to become committed members of our church family!  Room O12

10:45am -12:00pm:  Classes Offered During the Second Worship Service

NT Book of 1 John   led by Fred Hickok   (Continued from Winter Quarter) The First Epistle of John is a very practical letter addressed to Christian leaders. It contains warnings against the dangers of false teaching and exhorts believers to live lives of obedience to God and love for their brothers and sisters. The overriding theme is fellowship with God the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Join us as we fellowship with one another and learn more of God’s truth!    Room A6      ø

Celebrate Recovery – SteP sTUDY      - for Men* Room A5     - for Women* Room A3

*Attendance at our Wednesday Celebrate Recovery group is strongly encouraged but not required.

Celebrate Recovery uses the Twelve Steps and its related scripture as the Biblical model for living your life. A Step Study is a personal journey through each of these

steps in a gender-specific, confidential group led by a facilitator who has completed a study. The group is open for newcomers to join until the group reaches the fourth step, when the group is closed for the duration of the steps. When completed, you will have worked your hurts, habits, and hang-ups through each of the Twelve Steps. A Step Study is a long-term commitment to the members of the group. Strict guidelines are followed for trust and confidentiality.

DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS  led by Don and Karen McNutt  Learn how your unique personality and the passions of your heart blend with that gift to make you perfectly fitted for the work God planned for you!  Each week we will actively pursue these discoveries, bond with new friends and learn to resolve conflicts the Biblical way. This course will encourage you to take a deep look into who you are and to where the Lord may be leading you next. Come and join us on a journey you will never forget!  Room A7

TECHNOLOGY AND YOUR TEEN  *(Offered two weeks: March 18 and 25, 10:30am) This class is for parents of Middle School and High School students.  Women’s Class - God of Creation: A Study of Genesis 1-11by Jen Wilkin led by Laura Zimmerman  The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word.
